The Data Coalition’s two-day, virtual GovDATAx program, devoted to data policy and titled “An American Mission: Leveraging Data for the Public Good,” will be held on September 29th and 30th. The Data Coalition is widely considered the premier voice on data policy in the US; the group advocates for responsible policies to make sure government data is high quality, accessible and usable.
Given the global coronavirus pandemic, the program will focus on the use of data in public health response on Day 1 (September 29th) and on an equitable economic recovery on Day 2 (September 30th).
Among the featured speakers are two members of the House of Representatives—Scott Peters (D-CA) and Will Hurd (R-TX)—as well as former and current chief data officers, career civil servants, and industry experts. The shared perspective of the program is that we need good data to make good decisions, and our government plays a central role in providing open data and supporting transparency.

DFIN is a member of the Data Coalition’s board and is title sponsor for its other high-profile event each year: The RegTech Data Summit, which typically takes place in April.
