The events of this year have made us all keenly aware of how racism continues to impact our society in devastating ways. People want to be valued and treated fairly. When those basic principles are not honored, everyone loses. Our responsibility as leaders at DFIN is to ensure that the environment we create in our workplace is inclusive, equitable and diverse.
What We Believe
There is no room at DFIN for hate, bias or prejudice of any kind – whether it is based on race, color, religion, national origin, gender identity, sexual orientation, age or physical ability. We value all voices and want our employees to feel free in expressing theirs. In fact, we are counting on it. The way we develop the best solutions for our clients and deliver value to our shareholders is by leveraging the creativity, talent and perspectives of all our employees. We believe there is power in our collective genius.
Living Our Values
Like many organizations, our commitment to inclusion, equity and diversity can be found among our corporate values and leadership behaviors. Unlike many organizations, our commitment is demonstrated by living our values every day. Everything, from our interactions with one another to what we expect from our leaders, is informed by a shared set of values and behaviors. Principles of inclusion, equity and diversity are deeply embedded into them. For example, we encourage our leaders to communicate openly and listen actively, and to step out of their comfort zone by learning something new. These actions help cultivate an inclusive environment in which diverse voices are valued.
While we have taken solid steps in the right direction thus far, there is still a long way to go. In this journey, there is no finish line; the goal itself is to continue to make progress and stay focused on being true to our values. At DFIN, we are intentional about our efforts and commit to remaining steadfast.
